Abstract

In this paper we are considering the possibilities of controlling surface tension driven convection in space experiments involving fluid interfaces, the problem onset of Marangoni convection in a horizontal layer of fluid through porous media, possessing a deformable free surface and subject to a nonplanar oscillation of shear due to motion of the lower plate is studied. Results show that the long wavelength mode destabilized. The modulation effect rises at finite frequency and tends to zero in both small and large frequency.
